  • TREATMENT OF ISCHEMIC NECROSIS OF FEMORAL H EAD BY FOCAL CL EANING AND BONE GRAFT

OBJECTIVE To explore a simple and effective method for the treatment of ischemic necrosis of femoral head. METHODS The anterior region of hip joint was exposed by anterior hip route, a 1.5 cm x 1.0 cm hole was made at the upper region of the femoral neck just below the head. The necrotic bone and sclerotic bone were completely cleaned by drill and curettage until the fresh cancellous bone was exposed. After irrigation, the bone cavity was filled tightly by iliac bone graft until the collapsed femoral head recovered its normal shape. Traction and continuous passive motion(CPM) were performed at the early stage after operation. RESULTS Twenty cases with 29 femoral head ischemic necrosis (Marcus III to IV stage) were treated by above methods. After 1 to 3 years follow-up, the results were all satisfactory. The pain disappeared, and the functions of the hip joint were all excellent with almost normal walking and squatting. CONCLUSION The necrotic bone and the sclerotic bone can be removed by this method, thus optimal conditions for the reconstruction of blood supply is obtained. Abundant cancellous bone graft in the residual bone cavity can support the round shape of the femoral head. CPM is very important in the repair of hyaline cartilage and prevention of joint stiffness. It is a simple and effective method in treating femoral head ischemic necrosis.

  • Design of Flow Cytometry Self-cleaning System

In order to solve the problem of the micro flow cell clogging, and to improve the reliability of the flow cytometry system, a new method was proposed for hydrodynamic self-cleaning system. By analyzing the flow cell focus principle, we considered that to obtain stable single cell flow, the stable pressure in the flow chamber must be ensured. Therefore, we established a diagnosis method of clogging by the pressure detecting, and designed a self-cleaning system. Then we built up corresponding experimental systems. Experiments and testing showed that the self-cleaning system could improve the flow and resolve the clogging problem.

  • The Effects of New Burn Ward Cleaning Methods on Multi-drug Resistant Bacteria Infection

ObjectiveTo explore the effects of burn ward cleaning methods on multi-drug resistant bacteria infection, in order to improve and optimize the cleaning process and method. MethodsFrom November 2012 to October 2013, the cleaning and disinfection methods in our burn wards were regarded as the traditional cleaning methods, and from November 2013 to October 2014, the cleaning and disinfection methods were called the improved cleaning methods (new system cleaning methods). By retrospective analysis, we compared the infection rates of multi-drug resistant bacteria before and after the implementation of the new system cleaning methods. ResultsNew system methods were used in the ward environment cleaning and disinfection. The infection rate of multi-drug resistant bacteria before and after the implementation of the new system cleaning methods were 12.414‰ and 5.922‰ respectively. The methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection rate was 7.286‰ and 3.718‰, and the carbon-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection rate was 2.699‰ and 0.689‰. Both differences were significant (P < 0.05). The carbon-resistant Acinetobacter baumanii infection rate was 2.429‰ and 1.515‰ before and after the implementation of the new methods with no significant difference (P > 0.05). ConclusionAdopting new system to carry out cleaning can effectively reduce the infection rate of multi-drug resistant bacteria in the burn ward, and it is worthy of clinical popularization and application.

  • Research progress on disinfection of medical ultrasound probe

With the development of medical diagnosis and treatment technology, ultrasound examination has been widely used in clinical practice, but it also faces certain safety hazards. If the ultrasound probe is not effectively disinfected after use, it may be contaminated by pathogenic bacteria transmitted from blood, mucous membranes, genital or rectal secretions, thus becoming a carrier for the transmission of pathogenic bacteria among patients. In addition, the frequent use of ultrasound probe and coupling agent is also an important factor affecting the occurrence of hospital infections. Multiple studies at home and abroad have shown that incomplete cleaning and disinfection of medical ultrasound probe can lead to hospital infection incidents, thereby affecting patient safety and medical quality. Exploring effective disinfection methods and disinfection effects of ultrasound probe is of great significance for hospital infection prevention and control. Therefore, this article provides a review of research related to disinfection of medical ultrasound probe.
